Xiaomi introduces four smartphones from the Redmi Note 12 series
Xiaomi’s Redmi smartphones have long been known among fans for their good price-performance ratio. Now the Note 12 series is launching with four different devices in Germany.Xiaomi launched four Redmi Note 12 series smartphones at an event in Paris: The Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G. According to Xiaomi, the Redmi Note 11 series was a great success and the Chinese market giant wants to build on it with the new generation.Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G & 12 Pro 5GThe Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G is the new flagship and focuses (ha!) on a new camera system: The main camera shoots with 200 megapixels and offers OIS, there is also an ultra wide-angle camera with 8 megapixels and the famous macro camera with 2 megapixels. The version without “+” offers a 50 megapixel main camera (IMX766 sensor), but is otherwise the same. Both models offer a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a FullHD+ resolution, 120 Hz and a 16 megapixel front camera. Inside, both have the new MediaTek Dimensity 1080 and 6 or 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM. There is also a 5,000 mAh battery that can be quickly charged with 120 watts on the Plus model and 67 watts on the “normal” Pro model. The rest of the data sheet also reads well: Dolby Atmos support, jack connection. Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC. There is a fingerprint sensor on the side and facial unlocking.
Both versions of the Pro model are available in black, white and blue. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G will cost 499 euros and the Note 12 Pro will start at 399 euros.Redmi Note 12 5G & Note 12These are slightly slimmed down versions, with or without 5G function. Both smartphones have a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 120 Hz, but it is slightly below the Pro models. Selfies are taken here with a 13 megapixel front camera. The main camera of the Note 12 5G has 48 megapixels and that of the Note 12 has 50 megapixels; a specific sensor is not mentioned. The rest remains the same here: ultra wide-angle camera with 8 megapixels and a macro camera with 2 megapixels. The Note 12 5G uses the slightly more powerful Snapdragon 4 Gen 1, while the “non-5G” version uses the Snapdragon 685. LPDDR4X memory and UFS 2.2 storage remain the same. Here too there is a battery with 5,000 mAh, but it “only” charges with 33 watts. The rest of the data sheet shows good technology, but not as strong as the Pro models.
