Performance compared to a MacBook Air with an Intel processor: The tests were carried out by Apple in April and May 2023 with commercially available 13″ MacBook Air systems and with prototypes of 15″ MacBook Air systems, all with Apple M2, 8-core CPU, 10- Core GPU, 24 GB RAM and 2 TB SSD, as well as with standard MacBook Air systems with 1.2 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, Intel Iris Plus Graphics, 16 GB RAM and 2 TB SSD.

Final Cut Pro 10.6.6 was tested with a 2 minute long complex project using 4K ProRes 422 media. The performance tests are conducted using specialized computer systems and reflect the approximate performance of the MacBook Air.

Performance compared to a MacBook Air (M1): The tests were carried out by Apple in May 2022 with prototypes of 13″ MacBook Air systems with Apple M2, 8 core CPU, 10 core GPU and 24 GB RAM and with commercially available MacBook Air systems with Apple M1, 8?Core CPU, 8-Core GPU and 16 GB RAM, all configured with 2 TB SSD, as well as with standard MacBook Air systems with 1.6 GHz dual?Core Intel Core i5 processor, Intel UHD Graphics 617, 16 GB RAM and 1TB SSD. Final Cut Pro 10.6.2 was tested with a 2 minute complex project using 4K ProRes 422 media. Performance tests are conducted using dedicated computer systems and reflect the approximate performance of MacBook Air.

Display: The display size is measured diagonally. The displays of the 13″ and 15″ MacBook Air with M2 and the 14″ MacBook Pro have rounded corners at the top. Measured as a standard rectangle, the displays have a diagonal of 13.6″ (34.46 cm), 15.3″ ( 38.91 cm) and 14.2″ (35.97 cm). The actual visible display area is smaller.

Storage space: 1GB = 1 billion bytes and 1TB = 1 trillion bytes, the actual formatted capacity is less.
